And to top it all off...

...a nice healthy serving of No Sugar Added ice cream of the Bunny Tracks variety.

Macronutrient Graveyard

To continue my Carbocalypse, pizza is an obvious choice. But, there were several saving graces hidden beneath this mountain of carbs. There's the obvious toppings like pepperoni and sausage and mozzarella cheese. But wait, there's more! Order right now and I'll throw in DOUBLE the cheese! That's right, I'll add cheese in the crust, so you get TWICE the calories for the same amount of pizza! But hurry, this offer won't last long!

All told I ended up with 7 slices of pizza. No regrets were had.

Breakfast of Champions

Yesterday, I had carbs for breakfast. So today, I thought I'd have carbs for breakfast. That's right, I'm on the edge of Carbageddon, and I'm going to keep forging ahead. The one on the left is a simple glazed donut, the one on the right is a Bavarian cream-filled, chocolate iced long John. The "strawberries" on the plate are just for show and to ease my conscious.

Other vitals...

In the future, I will regularly update "vital" information, including my current body weight and body composition statistics, in terms of overall body mass compared to lean body mass and body fat. There are several ways to determine these stats, but the most convenient is the Body Analysis technology at Complete Nutrition stores. I have used and will continue to use this as a consistent means of tracking progress and fluctuations in my body composition and how this information could be reflected in my current diet. It should be noted that while these stats may not be literally accurate, they are meaningful in that they are relative to prior stats obtained with the exact same analytical techniques and technologies. So any fluctuations in numbers are relatively important, even though they may not be literally important. However, I do believe that this body composition analysis technique is pretty close to being representative of true body composition.

...and continue here!

It's still only the first day, but it's been a good first day. Replace the pork with chicken and sans pico de gallo, the Diablo Burrito from Vista Grande Mexican Restaurant is well worth it.

It's got to start somewhere...

Alright, prepare for takeoff. I'll start off with a disclaimer. I am not nor have I ever been or claimed to be a nutrition expert. I have my opinions, and any claims I may make should be taken with a grain of salt (or a healthy salt substitute). I have my own fitness goals, which may or may not be unique to me. I'll comment on various aspects of my diet as they relate to those goals. Fittingly, there could be the occasional post involving strength training and/or conditioning. But really, this is going to mostly consist of me eating with reckless abandon and then analyzing the results/consequences of said haphazardry.

To begin this journey on this first day of 2016, I present my first meal of the year: a breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy. A true classic.

Happy New Year!!!

The year 2016 (in the Gregorian calendar) is here, and with it comes this blog (for better or worse). Here one may expect to find a journal of sorts. This journal will consist of daily entries, most of which will be food-related. I'll call it, "The Year of Food." This working title implies that this journal is limited to a year. And maybe it will be. But maybe not. Maybe it'll be shorter. Or longer. The title also implies that food will be the sole subject of this blog. Now, there's no question that it'll be the heavy hitter, if you will, but I'm sure there will be tangents here and rants there (you know, for flavor and zest!). These heres and theres could be completely independent of food. Okay, maybe not completely independent, but wouldn't it be nice if there was some variety in life (this blog = life, by the way). Oh, and in case you're wondering, this is the first blog I've ever done; wish me luck! This could be interesting!
